Dr. Bvunzawabaya brings over a decade of dedicated experience in public health initiatives, clinical counseling, and mental health to her role as Director of Integrated Care Initiatives with Wellness at Penn. With roots in Psychology from Alabama A&M University, she holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University, specializing in minority mental health, body image concerns, sexual trauma, racial and ethnic identity development, and suicide prevention. 

Her journey at the Penn spans twelve years. During this time, she has passionately contributed to the University's mission. Notably, she has devoted much of her time to fostering wellbeing and highlighting the strengths in diverse communities. 

Outside of work, Dr. Bvunzawabaya’s spirit thrives in the sunshine. Whether absorbed in a good book, playing tennis, catching up on TV shows, or simply soaking up the sun, she finds joy in these moments of leisure. For Dr. Bvunzawabaya, the true highlight of her tenure at Penn lies in the people she encounters daily. Their collaborative spirit, kindness, and shared dedication to making a difference in the world make each day meaningful and rewarding.
