Heather is a licensed clinical social worker providing care for students who seek support through Student Health and Counseling, as well as to students at the School of Veterinary Medicine as the embedded clinician. She also serves as the LGBTQ+ Working Group Coordinator. Heather received their bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and then completed a dual Master of Social Work and Master of Education in Human Sexuality at Widener University. She has been at Penn since 2017.
Heather’s areas of specialty include gender and sexual identity, relationships, non-monogamy/polyamory, sexual health, trauma, anxiety, family issues, and eating concerns. They approach therapy from a relational, multicultural, and psychodynamic lens, paying close attention to how our experiences are shaped by our identities, families, communities, and other societal structures. Heather also routinely incorporates mindfulness and other somatic practices into her work with students.
Outside of Penn, Heather enjoys taking advantage of all that the city has to offer, being at home with their two cats, reading, and spending time with friends.
