Isra is a licensed social worker and serves as the embedded Wharton clinician through Student Health and Counseling. Isra holds a master’s degree from Widener University in clinical social work with a concentration on trauma. Before earning her master’s degree, Isra attended Penn State where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in sociology.
Isra has been working in the mental health field for more than 12 years and specializes in caring for students with concerns regarding anxiety, adjustment, depression, racial and ethnic identity, eating behaviors, body image, and more. Being able to interact with a wide range of students, hear their life stories, and support their mental and emotional health while they navigate their academic careers is Isra’s favorite part about working at Penn.
Isra is a proud mom to two tiny humans and spends a lot of her time with her children and husband. Isra loves to travel and is often planning her next vacation. She is a book work who loves to read. When she does get the opportunity to spend a night out, Isra loves to grab dinner at Parc or The Love in Rittenhouse.
