Leah McCurdy is a nurse practitioner with Student Health and Counseling. She completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State and earned her master’s degree as a nurse practitioner from Pace University. She has been a registered nurse for 14 years and has practiced as a nurse practitioner for the past seven years, recently joining the Wellness at Penn community in August 2024. She comes with a varied background of professional experiences, including Primary Care, Cardiovascular Care, and sexual health. Most recently, her focus was on HIV treatment and prevention, and she is currently a board-certified HIV specialist (AAHIVS) and an enthusiastic PrEP provider.
Outside of her professional work, Leah travels regularly with a group of remarkable femme friends. Together, they have explored the world and its diverse cultures for nearly 15 years, enriching Leah’s understanding of humanity and fostering deep gratitude for the supportive women in her life. She is also passionate about music, having attended over 150 concerts, and enjoys hiking, camping, and quizzo. Her favorite culinary experiences include anywhere that offers delicious Asian food of any variety.
Leah loves the opportunity to support students as they navigate and understand their health and wellbeing, finding great joy in being part of their journeys.
