Kayla Storrs serves as the Head of Community Engagement and Wellbeing at Wellness at Penn, where she leads efforts to create inclusive, people-centered initiatives that support belonging and holistic wellness across campus. Her work bridges the areas of recreation, intercollegiate athletics, and student wellbeing through collaborative programming and intentional community-building.
Originally from Texas, Kayla brings over a decade of experience in higher education, admissions, and equity-driven student engagement. She is a proud double alumna of the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies. She also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Kentucky and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Adult and Higher Education at OU. Her research focuses on how parents and guardians of first-generation college students perceive their ability to support their students through the college admissions process.
In addition to her administrative work, Kayla has served as an adjunct instructor at both the University of Oklahoma and the University of Kentucky, teaching courses on health, leadership, and cultural identity. She is also a proud Gates Millennium Scholar.
Outside of work, Kayla enjoys long walks through Philly neighborhoods, spontaneous dance breaks, cycling, baking, and curating playlists for any and every occasion. Her go-to comfort food? Pasta, always pasta.
